CYA Smart
Cyanuric acid: proper water management is key to any pool service plan
What cyanuric acid does — and why too much hurts
Cyanuric acid, also known as "conditioner" or "stabilizer," is an important part of your pool's water chemistry. Without it, the chlorine in your pool would be burned off by the sun in less than 12 hours. CYA is crucial, but too much can be equally problematic — it requires more and more chlorine, dulls the sparkle of your water, and helps algae grow.
What we see in Simi Valley pools
Unfortunately, four out of five pools we test in Simi Valley have a cyanuric acid level three to five times what is required, causing many of the issues families commonly experience. That's why we're committed to using CYA responsibly.
